I will work directly with the screenwriter through
the entire process of rewriting one of your company’s or client’s
projects to insure that the script is delivered on time, attains the highest
commercial and artistic potential, and unites the writer’s vision
for the project with your own individual needs and desires.
This process includes two in-person meetings with you
and your company, up to four in-person meetings with the screenwriter,
and my unlimited availability by phone for everyone involved, during which
I will:
- Read and analyze the screenplay.
- Meet with you to determine your vision of the film.
- Evaluate the script’s strengths and weaknesses.
- Provide a list of essential structural and character changes to maximize
artistic and commercial potential.
- Suggest possible story changes to implement the needed improvements.
- Outline the underlying principles and models used to justify the changes,
drawn from previous successful films within the same arena.
- Meet with the screenwriter to articulate their vision and passion
for the story, and provide my in-depth critique of the current draft.
- Conduct two in-person coaching sessions with the writer to develop
the revised story.
- Respond to the writer’s suggested revisions.
- Read the writer’s completed draft of the screenplay.
- Offer the writer suggestions for final polish of the script.
- Read the revised screenplay that the writer submits to the production
company.
- Meet with you to evaluate the rewrite and strategize the next steps
towards producing or marketing the script.
